Would you like to participate:
  • as a Liturgical minister and assist with our weekly liturgy?
  • as an Altar server?
  • in the Ministry for the homebound?

More information about training will be provided. Call Al Hallett.

Altar Servers: This is a great opportunity for our youth and for parents to assist in the liturgy of the Mass. In June the parish will be recruiting and training new altar servers. Youth must have received their First Communion. We are hopeful that more parents will become altar servers with their children and make this a family ministry. All ages, please consider becoming altar servers.
Please be reminded to dress appropriately as a liturgical minister.  We do not have a formal dress code, but suggest that the appropriate attire should reflect reverence and respect for the Eucharistic celebration and our Church community at St. Augustine.  Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.

Please use the new pastoral/prayer cards to communicate to staff requests for prayer lists and other details for pastoral care. The cards may be obtained in the Parish Information Center and in the Hospitality/Ushers' Room.

Remember the members of our parish who are not well - Send a card to someone you know and perhaps to someone you don't know.

"WE WALK WITH..." POSTER
Please bring your photos of children or seniors here in the U.S. or anywhere in the world who are sponsored by St. Augustine parishioners.  Now is your chance to give us your photo (it will be returned). Just place it in one of the white envelopes you will find on the far right bulletin board in the information center and put that envelope into the gray and green Sponsorship Photos envelope.

Be a Good Neighbor:

Please do not park your "FOR SALE" vehicles in the church lot.

Parking for Mass and Parish Events
Please do not park in the Beulah Methodist parking lot as a courtesy to our Emergency Shelter new neighboring church. Also the area next to the Newspaper Collection Bin does not have parking spaces. Please do not park along that side as it is too close to the legitimate parked vehicles for anyone to drive through that lane. Thank you very much for complying with this request.

ForYourVocation.org
Vocation videos of our own priests, including Fr. Mike, can be found at www.youtube.com & www.facebook.com. The Vocations site is www.ForYourVocation.org.  A Spanish language site will be available this fall at www.PorTuVocacion.org.  Site elements include discernment resources for men and women, respectively, aids for promoting a vocation culture within the home, and a range of tools for educators, youth leaders and vocation directors including prayers, videos, best practices, lesson plans and vocation awareness programs.

Please keep Deacon Gene in your prayers.  He has left us, but not in spirit.  Your prayers are  helpful and appreciated by Gene and his family.

St Augustine Rules ~~ ""God prefers humility in things that are done badly, rather than pride in those which are done well." Augustine"

~~ from the writings of St. Augustine

St. Augustine's Prayer
God of our life, there are days when the burdens we carry chafe our shoulders and weigh us down; when the road seems dreary and endless, the skies gray and threatening; when our lives have no music in them, and our hearts are lonely, and our souls have lost their courage.  Flood the path with light, turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; turn our hearts to brave music; give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age; and so quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road of life to your honor and glory.
